Sad to see Basketball end!

Well after a well fought season and a much earned trip to State,  P's basketball career has now ended.  He made The heartbreaking decision to play with his team and draw out of the NRA Finals. Tough choice but I think he made the right one.  There will be other Bull Riding Championships to come but this was it for basketball.  We will so miss watching him play, though.  Now it is onto the Spring High School Rodeos and hopefully another State Title this year.  L has finally gotten into a groove with her Barrel Horse and had a very good weekend.  J has gotten 100% on his first two spelling tests!  WooHoo!  I think this school thing is starting to click with him.  I have started working cleaning some houses and events at Cottonwood.  S has been judging and shoeing horses.  I can't believe my baby girl is turning 23 this week!  Happy Birthday You Beautiful Woman!   On a sad note we lost our Dog Pocahontas last week.  She was almost 16 and what a fighter.  She held on till we all got to say our goodbyes.  She will be greatly missed.
We are deciding on Graduation Plans for P, who still hasn't made a college decision, yet.  So many choices.  And if he gets his way he won't go to school at all.  Just hit the Rodeo Trail.  After an incredible computer crash, I now have a new Dell.  I am producing the DVD from our Bull Riding school we had at Drummond Montana last month and then will do the DVD from Bobby Mote's & Shaun Stroh's schools held in Helena Montana.  This will be interesting because I am used to editing my own filming and I wasn't at their school.  Guess we will see just how creative I can get.

Basketball & Bull Riding!

Wow! Is it cold in Montana?  -20 this morning with a windchill of -38!  Not liking it at all.  L. got to go back to work today and came home limping a little.  I asked her if it was from work or the torture the therapist put her through yesterday and she said " uh...both."So I put her through some more torture perfa-taping her closet.  P. has had a wonderful season playing basketball.  He has made the news every week the last month.  including a stint as student of the week.  Can you tell I'm a little bit proud?  I feel for for him though because it will all come to an end after divisional tournaments because if they do make state he won't be there to play.  But , for a good reason.  He will be competing at the NRA Finals as he is going into the finals in first place in the bull riding.  Hard choice for  him since he lives for Basketball and Bull Riding.  Booger is still working hard in Kindergarten.  He even is bummed when the weekend comes around and he can't go to school.  Hope that never changes  HaHaHa!

Hooves and Hair Dressers!

Well, what an eventful day we had.  Eight hours in the emergency room with L. who had gotten kicked in the face and leg by a horse.  She is doing fine.  No broken bones and some stitches.  Thank you Lord for keeping her safe and making her short.  If she was any shorter or any taller she really would have gotten it bad.  How scary for us? Mr. Fix it and I had gone to Walmart for peanut butter and jelly so, we just happened to already be in town when she called.  We rushed to the clinic.  They didn't have a strong enough x-ray machine for her femur and they sen her on to Billings in an ambulance.  But I can say that if you are going by ambulance it helps that the EMT is gorgeous and his driver is beautiful...  I think I might have caught L. drooling for a second through the tears of pain.  All in all I am thankful that it wasn't worse and that there will be a scar under her chin and not on her beautiful face.  Over the weekend our Varsity Boys Basketball team conquered the Southern C undefeated Team and tied with an 8 and 1 record for the season so far.  GO HAWKS!  What a great game to watch.  P. is suffering from a bruised shoulder and wrist and a slightly sprained ankle.  But still managed to go rope on Sunday and practice today. Him and the team made the local news cast and that was wonderful. Mr. Fix it actually got the truck running.  WOOHOO!  Now I got to get the plates paid for so he can drive it and give me back my car.  Little Booger has started telling people he is going to have a beauty Salon when he grows up.  What a difference in kids.  When P. was little he was gonna be a team roping paleontologist.  As for me I got 3/4 of the way done on the afghan I'm working on...

Well,  not a very profitable weekend for any of us.  L ran a 14.8 on Saturday and ended up in the bottom of the 1 D and then Grandpa sponsored the $200 fees for the slot race and she ran a 14.8 again and was out of the money.  That night P bucked off his bull.  Now he has nothing until the NRA Finals, so it is back to basketball for now.  Sunday L didn't improve much 14.9.  Not bad times and Wind turned the barrels good just not fast enough.  He needs rode more and in better shape.  L starts back to work today.  Ya!  Her dry spell is over.  Now to find her a husband.  Lol!  Little Booger & I spent the weekend working on not skipping the number thirteen when he is counting.  His 13 and 14 sound just the same.  But he is trying real hard and will get it.  Mr. B had to judge the bull riding and then go plow the rodes until 3 in the morning on Sunday.  He got to go rope with The Grandpa and then got called out again until 10 last night.  This morning it is only about 4 above here in Edgar.  But, I have my wood stove burning and am toasty warm.

I am currently working on new 2011 Rodeo entry books.  Seems I need to stop donating so many and start selling some.  Along with the books I am bound and determined to organize this family.  L is still on the job trail and has a promising meeting today.  P is busy keeping his 3.85 gpa at school and J is still trying to catch up with his letters in Kindergarten.  Hubby is busy plowing snow and getting ready for the next storm along with shoeing horses to make extra.  I seem to be getting overwhelmed with all that needs to get done.
When you follow someone elses trail...You can only go as far as they go...When you blaze yer own trail...The sky is the limit!
